Wiring Your Lights

You have purchased your fog or driving lights and wiring kit and have mounted these lights to your rig.

Now you must run the wire and mount the relay and switch so you can get the fog or driving lights lit up.   You will need to read the installation instructions provided with your wiring kit in order to hook these fog and or driving lights up properly.    Do this before you open the package and again after opening the wiring kit while viewing the parts that are included in the wire kit package.

Most Wiring Kits provide wire, relays, fuses and a switch.  These are all essential for the proper installation of your driving or fog lights.  Some installations do not require a separate switch and some do.  Here is an example of a typical wiring kit.

Wiring Kit for fog lights

Notice that this kit includes the Wire with a fuse holder  a relay, a switch and some wire ties to make your installation look like it was professionally done.  This wiring kit has the instructions on the back of the package and you should cut the plastic on the front of the package to remove the contents in order not to destroy the instructions before installation.

These wire kits typically cost between $20.00 and $40.00 depending on whether the kit is a light duty kit (2 - 55W lights) or a heavy duty kit (2 -55W/150W lights) like the ones we sell with both our FOG and DRIVING lights.  Remember to purchase a wire kit that has heavy enough wire that will handle the amount of amps that your driving or fog lights will be drawing.
